Blue Horse – Willett Family Estate 8 Year Old Bourbon
In the early spring there is a hint of blue in the grass in parts of Kentucky, prompting early settlers to dub the region ‘Bluegrass”. Legend has it that a horse turned blue from grazing in the nourishing bluegrass his entire life and one of Kentucky’s most successful ever racehorses was named after this fabled steed.
This horse was called Big Lex, or Lexington.
Fun fact: Lexington retired in 1855 as the third greatest prize winner of the time. He went on to sire over 600 foals, over one third of which were winners. Stud!
